Do you tend to push yourself until you’re ready to drop? If so, you could be hurting your present and future self. To avoid  potential problems, take a break and adopt the practice of athletes. Participate in intentional research-based activities that help you recover.

The difference between athletes and us knowledge workers is the strain we put on our body and mind. Athletes need to recover primarily from physical wear and tear. We knowledge workers need to rest our mind from the cognitive load and other pressures we subject it to.
